  •   Bees / Wasps

Bees and wasps have a painful sting, producing histamine in the human body which can be life threatening in some cases. It is important to be careful if you identify a bees or wasps’ nest in or around your home, as bees and wasps aren’t only annoying and harmful to your family, they can also be quite damaging to your home.

Where are they most commonly found?

Bee hives are naturally found in tree hollows and other voids which is why it is not surprising to find them in the wall cavities of your home. Nesting in wall cavities or in your roof void can cause damage to the plaster and/or ceilings.

European wasps have large communal nests only visible by a small entrance hole. Nests are normally underground or in cavities such as walls, ceilings, logs or trees.

What if you have Bees or Wasps in or around your home?

Do not try to treat this yourself, professional pest technicians use personal protective equipment for Bee and Wasp removal to ensure they do not get stung. Cautiously identify the whereabouts of the nest, hive or swarm. If you do locate the area, stay well clear and remove your pets from the area.
